"HOME" Concert

Thanks to everyone who made our HOME concert such a success! We hope you were as inspired by the message as we were. It truly was a testament to the strength, endurance, and hope of the residents of southern Louisiana!

As was announced in the concert, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Quire, Eastern Iowa's GLBT Chorus, to help them with their rebuilding effort. And we may add other sister choruses to this list as we find out about those who were impacted by the recent high levels of the Mississippi River. Community outreach has always been a part of NOGMC. But this concert was all about our gratitude for the love and support we received when we needed help, and it is so appropriate that we take this opportunity to widen our definition of community and give to those in need across our nation!

GALA 2008

We will be performing selections from HOME when we attend GALA Festival VIII in Miami in July. GALA is a quadrennial meeting of gay and lesbian choruses and, as a charter member of GALA, this is a great opportunity for us to show the world that New Orleans is back and NOGMC is here to stay. We’ve received so much love and support from our fellow choruses that we look forward to thanking them when we raise our voices in song.

NOGMC Does It Again!

For the second year in a row the New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus has been the proud recipient of the Gay Appreciation Award(GAA) committee's Performing Arts Award.

Through our musical concerts and community efforts, the GLBT community has seen fit to bestow this honor upon us for both 2006 and 2007. What makes this award so special and meaningful to us is that it is an award voted on by the popular vote of the people in our community, sort of like the People's Choice Awards.

NOGMC is very grateful to the community for their continued support going on now for 25 years.

Board Meeting

The Board typically meets the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 p.m. in the Lesbian and Gay Community Center of New Orleans. However, due to other committments, our next board meeting is scheduled Sunday, June 29.  Call for details.

Our holiday concert entitled Greetings of the Season was a smashing success with virtually every seat taken! We performed traditional songs in German, French, and Hebrew as well as other international favorites. And on top of that, we raised almost $1000 for local food banks!

We were proud to receive the GALA Chorus' 25th Anniversary Award, and acknowledge our founder Jerry Zachary.

New Phone Number

After many years of generous individuals allowing their personal phones to be used as the contact number for NOGMC, we now have our own portable phone number. If you would like to contact us by phone, please call 504-322-7007.
